Fatal shootings at Stop the Violence event in New York

Officials say three people have been killed and four others wounded when a gunman shot into a crowd after a basketball game in Rochester.

“Seven victims were shot and we’ve now confirmed that three were deceased”, said Rochester police chief Michael Ciminelli.

Ciminelli said it appeared that there was no problem at the Boys and Girls Club and the shooting was not connected to the basketball game, but added, “It is still subject to change”.

Police say it happened late Wednesday night near the headquarters of the Boys and Girls Club.

The names and ages of the victims have not yet been released.

Dotson said four guns, including the handgun wielded by the dead suspect, and crack cocaine were recovered at or near the home, which last year yielded illegal guns during a police search. “We are bringing every resource that we have to bear on this”. “This was an outrageous act”.

“I’m sure the people that did see something aren’t going to talk or anything, because they’re just too loyal”, he told the Democrat & Chronicle.
