A Georgia woman was killed after a suspect stole her purse and ran over her with his vehicle in a Georgia Walmart parking lot, according to the Covington Police Department.
Police said the passenger has reddish-brown dyed hair.
‘Once he got in his vehicle, her being in front of her vehicle, he took off in the vehicle, trapping her in front of the auto.
“The male is Hispanic, about 5’10” tall with a black goatee and tattoos on at least his right arm.
Police were able to release a sketch of the suspect and the woman who was with him, thanks to help from witnesses.
The suspects drove away in a silver Honda Accord similar to one used in the Covington crime. He proceeded to drive over the victim and had to back up because he could not get his vehicle out, ‘ Capt. Craig Treadwell of the Covington Police Department said.
Authorities say a female subject who was spotted in the suspect’s auto at the time is the same woman who robbed a 75-year-old woman in St. George last Tuesday outside a Family Dollar Store; the male suspect is believed to be the getaway driver in that incident. There would be damage to the driver’s side door from where the witness tried to stop him.
‘We are seeking all available help from the public.
“This woman would give you the shirt off her”, Jamie Johnson said. She held on to her purse, but the male started pulling her, dragging her on the ground.
Marsha Johnson’s nephew said he had just talked to his aunt on Monday. Police tell CBS46 they’re hoping to announce even more leads in the case Thursday.
