Just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Fox News anchor Bret Baier broke away from ongoing coverage of Donald Trump’s nomination to cover the controversy surrounding Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes.

She alleges that Ailes repeatedly ogled her and commented on her body, and that she was punished professionally for refusing Ailes’ advances.

According to The Drudge Report, Ailes will be kept on a consultancy basis until June 30, 2017, during which time he will be paid his current $6.25 million salary in addition to bonuses for 2016 and 2017 – a sum of almost $40 million by the time it’s all said and done.

The conflicting reports on Tuesday came hours after claims surfaced that Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly said she had been sexually harrassed by Ailes 10 years ago.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Ailes remained in his office at Fox News’ headquarters in New York City.

Ailes is facing a sexual harassment lawsuit from former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson. That short list includes: CBS News President David Rhodes, Fox News executive Bill Shine, who is viewed as the strongest internal candidate, and Jay Wallace, the Fox News executive vice president of news and editorial.

“Gretchen Carlson’s allegations are false”. Amid an investigation of Ailes’s conduct by an outside law firm, other Fox employees came forward with sexual-harassment allegations against Ailes.

Fox News is a huge success financially, by some measures providing a quarter of its parent company’s revenues. In the statement, she said that Ailes “has spent much of the last decade promoting and helping her to achieve the stardom she earned”.

Coulter has never been employed by Fox News, but has been a familiar face on the network as a fiery commentator.

There were conflicting reports Tuesday in several news outlets, some later withdrawn or toned down, that Ailes was leaving Fox News, the nation’s top-rated cable news network, which he helped found 20 years ago. She couldn’t be reached for comment and her agent declined to comment.

The impending departure of Fox News boss Roger Ailes is set to open up a big leadership hole in Rupert Murdoch’s media empire, raising questions about the commercial impact on 21st Century Fox for investors.

The move against Ailes-which had been rumored for weeks-is a remarkable turn, and comes in the midst of the Republican National Convention.

“I’ve heard Roger say, ‘I want you to tell everybody to be professional about this, ‘” Estrich said.

A high-ranking source said that Ailes participated in the network’s daily 9 a.m. editorial call, and made no mention of the controversy, but did not participate in the daily 2:30 p.m. followup call.
