Steven Seagal was sporting a quirky appearance when he attended the country residence of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on Wednesday.

The country’s leader, Alexander Lukashenko, known as “Europe’s last dictator”, has a knife in one hand, as Seagal snaps in half the item in the other hand with his teeth.

This was the first time Seagal met Lukashenko, but according to presidential spokeswoman Natalya Eismont, Seagal “had long wanted to meet Lukashenko”. The footage from the visit showed Lukashenko peel a carrot and hand it to Seagal to try.

It is understood Seagal was visiting Belarus to meet with Wargaming, the developers behind the popular World of Tanks video game.

The action movie veteran and friend of Vladimir Putin was invited to the president’s residence, north of Minsk this week.

Gerard Depardieu dropped in previous year, and was given a lesson in how to use a scythe.

Seagal’s new friendship in Belarus with Lukashenko adds to the actor’s network of controversial leaders. Green-fingered Belarusian strongman Alexander Lukashenko forced U.S. action star Steven Seagal to eat one of his homegrown carrots in an awkward encounter that prompted much mockery yesterday in the ex-Soviet state.
