Junior reserve offensive lineman Malik Cuellar has also been suspended.
A source with knowledge of the situation told the Post-Dispatch Mauk’s suspension is not related to a legal matter.
The team announced the decision Tuesday night. Mauk is also the Tigers’ second leading rusher this season.
In-season Tuesday practices had been open for approximately the first 45 minutes each week, a period of time taken up by warm-ups, stretching and a few positional drills.
In four games, Mauk has completed just 51.8 percent of his passes, which ranks 14th among SEC passers with at least 40 pass attempts.

USC star linebacker Skai Moore talked up this year’s Gamecocks game at Missouri this offseason, saying playing against Tigers quarterback Maty Mauk was the personal match-up he was looking forward to the most. According to College Football Talk’s Zach Barnett, Cuellar was listed as a second-string left tackle on the team’s depth chart Saturday.
