Since then, Massachusetts State Police have worked to find who the little girl was and where she was from.

In a posting on August . 18, 2014, Bond wrote: “My Bella loved her birthday party and all the awesome things she got”. Bond was also arrested and charged as accessory to murder after the fact. Majority left soon enough in a haze of drugs and tumult. Michael McCarthy, 35, is charged with murder in her death, and Bella’s mother, Rachelle Bond, 40, is charged as an accessory after the fact to murder.

“I’m just happy we’ve identified the baby”, he said, clarifying that the small comfort in no way mitigates the horror of the child’s death. The Globe reports Bella’s body was placed in a refrigerator before it was disposed of, according to officials briefed on the case said. Their apathy or obliviousness or fear is easy to judge and harder to understand. “Instead, she lies unnamed in the Medical Examiner’s office”. However, what the police found makes for an even more tragic story. That meeting ended with Rachelle Bond storming off, Tamera Bond told WHDH. Her freaky behavior made them uncomfortable.

How hard could it have been to make an anonymous call? Prosecutors say McCarthy murdered the toddler and the girl’s mother helped cover up the crime.

Bond posted pictures of the toddler on Facebook and credited her with helping her get her life together after having her two older kids taken away by Children’s Services. The case file had since been closed. She described Bella as being about 5, when Bella was not yet 3.

McCarthy, who is not biologically related to Bella, is in custody at a Boston-area hospital, where he’s been staying for reasons unrelated to the case, Conley said.

With the Baby Doe photos all pervasive this summer, neighbors must have at suspected that Baby Doe was really Bella. But she didn’t act on that thought. So far more than 200 missing girls were ruled out.

The official was not authorized to release details of the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity.

“For nearly three months, we have endeavored to speak for a true innocent who could not speak for herself”, State Police Col. Richard McKeon said.

Neighbors said they had not seen a girl who looked like the composite photo released by police since March or April.

Amoroso says he doesn’t believe Bella’s mother would have done anything to hurt her.

The girl was named Baby Doe by investigators and was estimated to be 4 years old.

Herman, the lead investigator, drove around with that digitally-created image of Bella taped to his dashboard.

Bella’s mother and a man voluntarily went with police Friday morning.
