Father surprises daughter by walking her down the aisle
Your wedding day is arguably one of the most memorable moments of your life, but for Heather Duquette, her wedding day was extra special.

Ralph Duquette is a leukemia surviver. But the walk an Old Orchard Beach, Maine, father and daughter taken last weekend stands out among the rest.
Heather Duquette’s father Ralph Duquette was diagnosed with Leukemia in October 2012 and was confined to a wheelchair after undergoing extensive chemotherapy.
Fathers walking their daughters down the aisle is a tradition that has been around for centuries.
The father spent all summer with physical therapists learning how to walk again – and he gained enough strength by the time of the wedding.
Portland DJ Marc Beatham, who videotaped the event, said he didn’t know about the father’s surprise until he approached him about where to place a wireless lapel mic for the ceremony, which Ralph Duquette was to perform. “I will have someone help me out of my chair and walk her down the aisle”.

And being a man of strong will, Ralph even managed to dance the father-daughter dance with Heather, too.
