Fatherhood has made Simon Cowell a softer judge
“He’s unpaid, but he’s helping me!”, Cowell said.

Simon – who has joined the judging panel of “America’s Got Talent” this season – said: “Lauren is great”.
Cowell says the fact that everyone has a unique talent gives America’s Got Talent a much more positive and brighter feel than the previous shows on which he has served as judge.
He went on to add to PEOPLE magazine that joining judges Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel on the judging panel for the United States version of the hit talent show this season was pretty nerve-wracking, sharing: “What was amusing was that I felt like the new boy on AGT because these guys have worked together for so long”. He cites shows like X Factor and American Idol in claiming that show producers edited his remarks to contestants, so that he would seem more heartless and inconsiderate.
That certainly explains Simon’s obsession with Britain’s Got Talent’s Stormtroppers and polar bears this year, eh?
“I think X Factor and Idol were edited so that I was always seen as this bad-tempered, miserable whatever – which of course I am at times, but I’m not like that the whole day!” he said.
Simon – who created the show – told PEOPLE magazine: “What was amusing was that I felt like the new boy on AGT because these guys have worked together for so long”.
In an interview with People Magazine, Cowell revealed that his new kindness is a result of fatherhood.
For those of you relatively new to the show, what will likely happen next (the show does change this up from time to time) is that there will be another performance round where the judges will make further cuts.
And just how he gushes over two-year-old Eric might just be proof that Mr Cowell has gone all soft. Before I first went to visit one of the hospices, I had this idea in my head of a grey corridor of beds. Instead, he gets a good laugh out of his son’s bargaining.

Just last week Simon admitted that Eric he spoils his young son.
