The win was Utah’s second straight, while the Raptors-who are in the middle of a five-game road trip-have now lost three straight. Hayward finished with 17 points and seven rebounds. Backup Jazz guards Alec Burks and Trey Burke gave Utah a lift with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Hood added six rebounds and four assists.

Favors was quiet for most of the game-until it mattered most. Utah gave up 40 points in the paint after entering the game with a league-best average of 34.8 points allowed. And then-after two free throws by Lowry-Favors threw down a two-handed dunk as the Jazz broke Toronto’s half-court press. He also bounced in the game-sealing free throw (after he missed the front end-DRAMA!!!) with eight seconds remaining. The Jazz scored 35 combined points in the second and third quarters and 34 in the fourth quarter. Hayward converted a three-point play and drilled two 3-pointers.

The Jazz jumped out to a 22-13 lead in the first quarter thanks to a 14-0 run and had a double-digit lead early in the second, but it was all Raptors for the rest of the half.

For the Blazers, that has been just enough time against the Rockets and as with the 2014 playoff clincher, they went to Damian Lillard. “We didn’t respond right away, but eventually we got stronger, too”. “I know we could figure something out for him in a few capacity, but I think he’s just in a wait and see mode”.

That was clearly one of the best dunks of the season so far.
