Former Packers and, yes, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is one of three first-year eligible nominees in the list of 15 modern-era finalists that will be considered by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s selection committee, the Hall announced Thursday night.
Harrison starred for Dungy with the Colts and had 1,102 receptions for 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns, making the All-Decade Team of the 2000s. He ran for 9,226 yards and 64 touchdowns with the Colts.
This year’s voting will take place Saturday, Feb. 6 in San Francisco, the day before Super Bowl 50. Pace made five All-Pro teams and blocked for Kurt Warner as the Saint Louis Rams won the 1999 Super Bowl.
Owens was a dominant force who was a five-time first-team All-Pro, but he courted controversy and his personality explains why he played for four teams (Eagles, Cowboys, Bills, Bengals) in his final seven seasons. Joining a franchise that was often ridiculed nationally while reeling off 13 consecutive losing seasons, Dungy had the Bucs in the playoffs in his second year and posted a 54-42 record during his six seasons in Tampa.
Warner best year came in 1999, when he led the Rams to their first ever Super Bowl Victory. He’s a 2-time Super Bowl victor and 3-time Pro Bowl player.
-Alan Faneca, guard – 1998-2007 Pittsburgh Steelers, 2008-09 New York Jets, 2010 Arizona Cardinals.
They’re joined by quarterback Kenny Stabler and guard Dick Stanfel, who were senior finalists announced in August, and owner Edward DeBartolo Jr., a contributor finalist announced in September. Finalists must receive 80 percent of the vote to be enshrined. His 10.7 wins per season as a head coach ranks first in National Football League history among coaches with at least five years of experience.
The 1st overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft, is reaching closer to finally getting inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
