News of Pitt and Jolie’s split was announced Tuesday.

And now the Federal Bureau of Investigation has started a probe into these allegations.

Brad Pitt has been interviewed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, USA TODAY can confirm.

Brad Pitt admits to yelling at his children, but denies causing them any physically abuse, amidst his divorce from Angelina Jolie.

Brad Pitt is at the centre of an FBI investigation into child abuse after an alleged incident took place on a flight with his eldest son Maddox.

Several media outlets reported that on September 14, an intoxicated Pitt became violent with his children while flying on a private jet from France to Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, FBI agents are reportedly stepping in to take charge of an alleged child abuse investigation surrounding Pitt, 52. As fans of the mega-movie stars know, they fell in love more than ten years ago while filming the 2005 movie Mr.& Mrs. Smith – while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

“We have no report in our record for any filings for Brad Pitt, we are not having any investigations regarding Brad Pitt”, police spokesman Lorenzo Quezada told the Agence France-Presse news agency.

A source with knowledge of the situation said Thursday: [Brad] is taking this very seriously and he’s cooperated. Jolie filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences, with the date of the couple’s separation being listed as September 15. They married privately at their French chateau in the Provence hamlet of Correns with their children serving as ring bearers and throwing flower petals.

The source said Pitt has refrained from directing any “negativity” in order to resolve the divorce as quickly as possible for the sake of their children.

Jolie is requesting physical custody of the children – 15-year-old Maddox, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, and 8-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – and is asking for shared legal custody.
