FBI Director Comey Sick And Tired of Talking about Hillary Clinton Investigation

VICE News routinely files FOIA lawsuits against the FBI for violating the law and failing to live up to its transparency obligations – including one ongoing case in which we asked for a wide range of documents the FBI recovered from Clinton’s private email server that the FBI has fought to avoid releasing. The FBI was looking for gross negligence in her behavior about securing state secrets.

“Be very careful”, Powell wrote.

The FBI’s investigative documents also revealed that Clinton, when confronted with emails disseminated with at least three top aides containing classified information about top-secret future drone strikes, among other subjects, was not concerned about secrecy and in some instances did not believe the content was classified.

The FBI notes of the interrogation recount that Clinton professed serious memory lapses 39 times. She said she thought the practice went back “200 years”. But she said she had no intention of removing classification markings, and she said she couldn’t recall actually receiving a “nonpaper” fax in that instance.

The committee responded by scheduling a Monday morning hearing with representatives of the four agencies to which it had made its request: the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Departments of Justice and State. She’s got to get her act together.

According to Clinton aide Cheryl Mills, Hillary Clinton decided in December 2014 that she no longer needed access to any of her emails older than 60 days.

Comey claimed at the beginning of the memo that he was writing, “Because it is generating a lot of interest, I thought I should update you on where we are with our commitment to transparency in the wake of the Clinton email investigation”.

In a follow-up email with the Federal Bureau of Investigation on May 3, 2016, the unidentified person indicated “he believed he had an “oh s (asterisk)(asterisk) t” moment and sometime between March 25-31, 2015, deleted the Clinton archive mailbox from the PRN server and used BleachBit to delete the exported.PST files he had created on the server system containing Clinton’s emails”. Hillary and the FBI Notwithstanding the mountain of evidence pointing to Mrs. Clinton’s guilt, it is highly improper and grossly unfair to release evidence gathered against a person who will not be prosecuted.

FBI Director James Comey has also said foreign government hackers were so sophisticated – and the server would be such a high-value target – that it was unlikely they would leave evidence of a break-in.

The FBI failed to pursue even the most basic lines of questioning.

Comey has come under harsh criticism as well for deciding not press charges against Clinton for sending classified emails.
