The FBI announced today that it is assuming a leadership role in the investigation into the mass shooting that occurred earlier this week in San Bernardino, California, and that the attack that killed 14 people and injured 21 others has been deemed an act of terrorism. “There’s a number of pieces of evidence that has essentially pushed us off the cliff to say we are now investigating this as an act of terrorism”.

FBI Director James Comey says findings in a sweeping federal investigation into the California mass shooting indicate the two suspects showed signs of radicalization but were not part of a broader network. “But, if you see something that doesn’t make sense you say something to somebody”.
Asked whether the San Bernardino shooters – given the amount of ammunition and bombs they had – may have been planning something different but instead did Wednesday’s shooting impulsively, the FBI’s David Bowdich answered: “If you look at the amount of obvious pre-planning that went in, the amount of armaments (they) had, the weapons and the ammunition, there was obviously a mission here”. But officials emphasized that they were unclear what set off the attack, and said they were not ready to call it terrorism.
“What we hope you will do is not let fear become disabling…”
That’s according to the assistant director of the FBI’s Los Angeles office.
They did not tell CNN how they discovered that she posted the pledge.
They were gunned down hours later a few miles from the Inland Regional Center, where the attack happened.
It was revealed Friday that the wife had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) on social media.
“Our hearts continue to ache for the people lost and wounded in San Bernardino and their families”, Comey said, echoing Lynch’s earlier sentiments to keep the victims and their families “in our prayers”. Malik, 27, is believed to be his wife. She came to the U.S.in 2014, the AP reported.
