FDLE recognizes National Missing Children’s Day

The Rock One Sock campaign has this handy list to get involved all day and beyond! The Amber Alert system is used only in the case of child abductions and not in other cases involving missing children.

Abducted children are often forced to be a part of organised crimes or made to do labour work.

By being aware of the names and faces of missing children, people can actively report them if they think they have seen them. Anthony states, “National Missing Children’s Day reminds us all that we should take the time to focus on children, on keeping them safe, educating them on how to be safe, whether they are in their neighborhood or online”.

The FBI reports that 460,699 children were reported missing in 2015.

This National Missing Children’s Day, law enforcement officials are raising awareness for not only the plight of children who have disappeared, but also for the rapidly expanding suite of technological tools being developed to help bring them home. Specifically, the Texas Department of Public Safety Missing Persons Clearinghouse received 57,810 missing person reports in 2015, 46,121 of which were juveniles. We have never given up hope and will continue to search until that one day we find Ali and bring her home. Law enforcement personnel also report that almost 1 in 5 of those children were likely forced into sex trafficking. NCMEC also operates the CyberTipline, a mechanism for reporting suspected child pornography, child sex trafficking and other forms of child sexual exploitation. Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings offers many types of displays across its global platform to meet the advertising needs of its customers.
