FE colleges have topped the annual National Student Survey for satisfaction levels among their higher education learners.

The survey found that 92% of BGU students are satisfied with their university experience, which is 7% higher than last year’s score and 6% higher than the sector average.
Final-year students at the Fife university gave it top marks for the quality of the learning and teaching experience, resulting in a 94% satisfaction rating.
The NSS is a survey of almost half a million students across the United Kingdom, undertaken independently by Ipsos MORI.
This should be great news for those joining our academic family in 2016, as this year’s graduates assure incoming students that they’ve made the right choice.
Professor John Baldock, Kent’s pro vice-chancellor for teaching, learning and students, said: “I am pleased that our students continue to rate the Kent experience as one of the best in the UK”.
BGSU President Kieran Parrish added: “From an SU point of view it is excellent to see how engaged and happy the students are, however, we know that there is always room for improvement”.
“The results are testament to the hard work of college and university staff, who continue to deliver a high-quality experience for students”.
“The results strengthen our reputation for outstanding learning, teaching and student experience”.
Prof Tom Ward, the university’s deputy vice chancellor for student education, said: “The 90 per cent score for satisfaction is a considerable achievement in an increasingly competitive environment”.
This was the highest of any university in Yorkshire and also higher than most other similar top institutions, according to the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

“Our next job is to analyse the results in more detail and discuss them with individual schools and our student body, to see how and where we need to focus our efforts in the future”.
