‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Breaks Cable Ratings Records!
It was to be expected that AMC’s latest zombie drama, Fear The Walking Dead would draw a big crowd, considering they already have an established market with its companions series, The Walking Dead.

The 90-minute premiere delivered 10.1 million live/same day viewers, AMC said, including 6.3 million adults 18-49. Despite of its success, “Fear the Walking Dead” was still behind its mother series “The Walking Dead” which garnered 17.3 million viewers for the season 5 premiere.
The original series’ season five finale, for example, was one of the most-watched episodes anywhere on TV with 15.8 million viewers in March.
According to the AMC network it delivering a staggering 10.1 million viewers, which allowed it to rip the crown from the previous pacesetter Better Call Saul.
Collier went on to say that everyone involved with the show truly has the fans to thank for giving the bold new “companion series” a shot in the first place. “None of it is possible without the fans, whose passion leads to these remarkable results”.
This edition of “Walking Dead”, whose showrunner is Dave Erickson, was done with the approval and guidance of Robert Kirkman, who wrote the original comic book series on which the TV show is based. So not only did it exceed almost everyones expectations, but this first episode completely smashed them into a pulp, much like some of the walkers brains well presumably be seeing later in the season. Season one is six episodes. In this world where you want to do right by everybody and protect your family, those are all the attributes of a person that, in the apocalypse, really don’t matter anymore.
“Fear The Walking Dead” is a spin off of “The Walking Dead” and it stars Frank Dillane, Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Ruben Blades, Mercedes Mason, and Lorenzo James Henrie.
