‘Fear the Walking Dead’: Watch the Opening Scene
The new show improves on its predecessor in a number of ways, notably that it’s not as dominated by white faces like “The Walking Dead”.

“Fear The Walking Dead” spoilers indicate that the 90-minute series premiere will air on AMC on Sunday, August 23. Rather than basing it off comics, like with TWD, Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson got to create a whole new story, which Kirkman found “exhilarating”. But “even though we start from a very specific family-drama place, the difficulties and conflicts they have will be quickly exacerbated by the apocalypse”, Erickson told Variety.
While we’ve talked a bit about how the zombies on the new show will differ from those on the spin-off, you can now see for yourself.
Fear the Walking Dead will premiere on AMC in the US on Sunday (August 23) at 9pm ET.
I absolutely love the pace and vibe that the introduction to the series is giving us. Can it ever be on the same level as The Walking Dead? Fans of The Walking Dead will know that Lincoln’s character, Tobias, is correct about his concerns, however, his guidance counselor, Madison (played by Kim Dickens) is not at all convinced the end of the world is nigh.
With all the zombie hype that’s happening, let’s take a moment to remember all those undead shamblers that entertained us over the past few decades, especially the ones that were smarter than we originally gave them credit for!
The big selling point of this show is that it is the flawless prequel to “The Walking Dead” proper, or at least it is right now. He described the first season as “the shark you don’t see”.
