Now FBI agents have confirmed to the BBC they are evaluating whether to investigate any allegations against Pitt.
It was the second marriage for Pitt, 52, who previously Wednesday actress Jennifer Aniston, and the third for Jolie Pitt, 41, who was previously married to Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.
Jolie has asked for physical custody of the couple’s six children, asking the judge to give Pitt visitation rights.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that it is “continuing to gather facts” about an alleged incident between Brad Pitt and his children while aboard a private jet.
Its statement came after The Los Angeles Police Department denied reports that Pitt was being probed for child abuse and said the authorities had received no such allegations against the actor.

“LAPD is not handling any reports or allegations of child abuse against Mr. Brad Pitt”, LAPD spokeswoman Jenny Houser said Thursday. The episode is apparently what prompted Jolie to file for divorce.
It was also reported that the family was under investigation for the alleged incident by the Los Angeles Police Department, claims the department denied.
Interesting factoid: The Daily Mail adds that on early Thursday a police squad auto was seen at the Jolie-Pitt mansion in Hollywood, where Pitt is believed to be staying while Jolie and the six children are staying elsewhere. “He isn’t able to see the kids and he is desperately trying to make sure they are OK by calling valued members of his and Angelina’s staff”, a source told Us Weekly.
Media outlets quoting anonymous sources claimed Pitt had been drinking during the flight.
Although Jolie Pitt’s divorce filing sought sole physical custody of their children, divorce experts say the actors will have to agree to a parenting plan or face a public custody battle in court.
