Feingold says DNC’s Wasserman Schultz right to step down
In his email, Sanders acknowledged his delegates’ frustration in response to leaked Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails that show committee officials worked to undermine his campaign when he and Clinton were competing for the Democratic nomination.

Clinton campaigned in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Monday, serving up a harsh critique of Trump’s foreign policy and what she said was his “trash talk about America”.
After the unruly behavior displayed at the Republican Convention, the Democrats were surely planning on demonstrating what a typical and presidential convention looks like.
Her role has been dramatically reduced at this week’s Democratic Convention, but she will still open and close the four day long event being held in Philadelphia.
“And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters and all our sons and daughters now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States”.
As Wasserman Schultz becomes the outgoing chair, DNC Vice Chairwoman Donna Brazile is serving as the interim chair through the election.
Whether she did anything wrong – and the emails seem to show more snarkiness and entitlement and arrogance more than anything – Wasserman Schultz is the DNC’s top person. The emails confirmed a widespread suspicion that it is anything but.
Not even Sanders could quiet the shouts of his die-hard supporters – but Michelle Obama did. One communications aide wonders: “if there’s a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess”.
The statement was signed by DNC leaders, though Wasserman Schultz’s name was notably absent.
They were protesting leaked DNC emails that suggest Wasserman Schultz’s staff favored Hillary Clinton over Sanders during the presidential primary.
In the convention’s first hours, party officials struggled to carry out business as angry Sanders supporters roared their disapproval, drawing a deafening response from Clinton delegates.
Statements from Wasserman Schultz, Clinton and President Barack Obama did not indicate that she was forced into leaving earlier than she planned, although an insider said she had hoped to stick it out through the November election. Feingold says there should be no favoritism in a Democratic primary at the DNC. “Her critical role in supporting our economic recovery, our fights for social and civil justice and providing health care for all Americans will be a hallmark of her tenure as Party Chair”.
The Florida congresswoman announced Sunday that she would resign as the party’s chair at the end of this week’s Democratic National Convention.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said Monday Wasserman Schultz still meant to gavel the convention into order Monday afternoon, but she told the South Florida Sun Sentinel that she was passing along those duties as well to Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, the secretary of the DNC.
