Feminist pioneers have been criticizing young women for supporting Sanders

KOTB: Steinem, an outspoken Hillary supporter, tried to explain that women become more politically active as they get older.

“And when you’re young, you’re thinking, you know, ‘Where are the boys?’ The boys are with Bernie, ” added Steinem.

Maher was surprised by Steinem’s remark.

Young women voters have been the target of the Clinton campaign since its beginning, with the help of Katy Perry and Lena Dunham, “Yaaas Hillary!”

However, as soon as she began receiving backlash from young female voters for her rather sexist statement, Steinem took to Facebook to clarify herself. Albright was critical of Sanders’ always bringing up Hillary Clinton’s vote on the Iraq War instead of answering questions about what he would do now.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright joined Chris Ryan for an extended discussion of the Democratic Presidential race, foreign policy, and her frustration with young women who do not support Hillary Clinton’s bid to be the first woman president.

On CBS This Morning, without any sense of irony, co-host Charlie Rose touted how concerned the former president was by women being harassed: “Former President Bill Clinton lashed out at Sanders more directly”.

Sanders drew huge support for young voters, including women, in last week’s Iowa Democratic caucuses.

Steinem’s comments came under fire just as another feminist icon was feeling the same scorn.

“As students of your own powerful model of feminist activism in the media, we demand that you admit your mistake and apologise”, they wrote.

“Oh”, Maher replied. “Now if I said that, ‘They’re for Bernie because that’s where the boys are, ‘ you’d swat me”. Madeleine Albright, the first female secretary of state, told voters in New Hampshire Saturday: “There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other!” T-shirts and supporters who rant in all capitals.

“Whether they gravitate to Bernie [Sanders] or Hillary, young women are activist and feminist in greater numbers than ever before”, wrote Steinem, one of the modern feminist movement’s leading voices.

At a Clinton rally over the weekend, Albright recited her quote that there is a “special place in hell for women” who do not support other women, implying that women would go to hell if they did not vote for Clinton. Albright has again used that line a bunch of times, she says it’s one of her favorite sayings.
