Ferdinand backs Pogba to handle record transfer fee
After joining the club Paul Pogba spoke to the official site where he said: “I am delighted to rejoin United”.

But without the fitness base provided by a full pre-season, a more realistic target for his first game is the game against Southampton at Old Trafford on August 19.
“I think that was a world record too”, he said. And I came back, I’ve not come back from the academy now – just I went to play somewhere else and I came back as, I would say, as a person, as an adult. There is no words, to be honest, no words – just happiness, and I just can’t wait to start playing with my new team.
Pogba, who has signed a five-year deal, added: “This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to”.
With the Community Shield already in the trophy cabinet, and less than a week to go until the start of the new season here is everything you need to know about the Paul Pogba £89m transfer to Manchester United…
The 23-year-old left for Juventus in 2012 and helped the club win four Serie A Titles, two Coppa Italias, and reach the 2014-15 Champions league final. The record previously belonged to Gareth Bale when he transferred from Tottenham to Real Madrid for £85 million.
Pogba is the latest of Mourinho’s stellar signings following defender Eric Bailly, midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and most notably striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he establishes his own squad after taking over from Louis van Gaal.
Pogba said he had spoken to Mourinho “a few times”, as well as talking to France team-mates who had worked under the former Chelsea boss. “Hopefully it will come but first I have to win the Premier League”.
“To all supporters who wrote on my pages about transfer rumours, I have read you all and thank you for the passionate messages”.

Writing in a series of Instagram posts, he said: “It is hard to explain so much in a few lines but I made a decision guided by my heart and nothing else”.
