Before the video’s release, the teen’s dad, also named Tyrone Harris, accused police of telling “a bunch of lies” about his son’s involvement in the shooting.

After a night of peaceful protests that saw neither arrests nor the deployment of tear gas in Ferguson, Missouri, St. Louis County officials are considering lifting the state of emergency imposed a day after the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death.

In the video, Harris can be seen pulling a handgun out of his waistband.

Police said Sunday’s gunfire began with two groups of agitators apparently shooting at each other before one gunman darted across a parking lot and was confronted by four officers who pulled up in an unmarked vehicle. His family told the Post-Dispatch Monday they don’t believe Harris would shoot at police officers. Harris is hospitalized in critical condition and has been charged with 10 felonies. Police said they have not located any video showing the shooting.

The calmer night in Ferguson comes after unrest that included a shootout with police, break-ins, dozens of arrests and various objects being thrown at officers.

The SLCPD added that there were no reported shootings, no calls involving shots fired, nor burglaries, looting or damage to property.

County Executive Steve Stenger announced the state of emergency Monday after protests turned violent on the Sunday anniversary of Michael Brown’s death.

Clergy and civil rights groups led a series of protests, staging a demonstration at a courthouse in St. Louis where 60 people were arrested, according to a protest organiser. Tuesday was the fifth consecutive night a crowd gathered on West Florissant.

This time, the police presence was far greater.

Oath Keepers were in Ferguson late last year when a grand jury decided not to indict Wilson in Brown’s death.

“It comes back to experience”, he said.

The state of emergency that was issued Monday afternoon in St. Louis County will remain in effect until at least Thursday.
