Ferrari has given well-heeled convertible lovers something to look forward to next summer with the Frankfurt unveiling of the 488 Spider, a folding-hardtop variant of the 488 GTB Coupe that went on sale earlier this year. These ensure that the 488 Spider is the most aerodynamically efficient open-top Ferrari ever built.
The 488 Spider has a spaceframe chassis made of 11 different 6,000 series aluminium alloys, containing varying percentages of magnesium. It’s 25kg lighter than the fabric roof used on the old F430 Spider.
Ferrari is living up to its name as it has released an impressive video with its newest model up to date, the 488 Spider.
With a body designed by legendary Ferrari coachbuilder Scaglietti and a 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engine, the 488 Spider claims the same 660 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque enjoyed by the 488 GTB.
To enrich the superb sound of the JBL PRO system, the Ferrari sports cars will also feature QuantumLogic Surround, which gives audio tracks a controlled sound quality by introducing revolutionary new audio algorithms to extract signal streams and impulse responses from the original recording. The aerodynamic underbody with vortex generators can also be mentioned, along with the blown spoiler. The top can be raised or lowered in 14 seconds, even while the vehicle is moving, and its glass windstop is adjustable to three different positions.
As a result, the 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) sprint sits below the 3-second barrier, while the 0 to 124 miles per hour (200 km/h) run is completed in 8.7 seconds.

The technicians and engineers worked on the magnetorheological dampers to guarantee maximum sportiness without compromising on comfort, while the new SSC2 Side Slip Angle Control system also makes it easier for non-professional drivers to drive on the limit.
