Ferrari adamant Vettel slowing not cause of Kvyat crash
Daniel Ricciardo is also demanding a personal apology from his Red Bull team-mate after Kvyat’s brazen first-lap conduct, in front of his home fans, scuppered his race, too. He then commandeered a scooter from a marshal, riding it back to the paddock with the official behind as a passenger, before seeking out Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, on the pit wall.

“Somebody hit me in the f***ing rear in Turn Two, then someone hit me in the f***ing rear again in Turn Three”. He can’t be very happy… I think the auto was getting better though.
“All I could do was apologise to him. I think he knows what happened – we could have scored sound points today”.
Speaking after the race, Kvyat said he was caught out while braking, but admitted responsibility for his actions and apologised both to Vettel and his team. Ferrari chose to change the gearbox on Vettel’s vehicle after finding damage that is reportedly left over from the German’s first lap collision with his teammate in China.
It was Rosberg’s fourth win of the season and his seventh in succession, which puts him in the elite company of Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Alberto Ascari as one of only four drivers to manage seven wins in a row.
Following the second impact with Kvyat’s vehicle Vettel crashed in the rail damaging his Ferrari and was forced to retire from the race.
“He’s young and it’s the first time he has been involved in an incident like this and I’m sure he will learn from it”.
Vettel, who won four Driving World Championships at Red Bull, had a major argument with Kvyat for an incident early in the Chinese Grand Prix two weeks ago, and was similarly unhappy with this one, with a rant involving six profanities recorded after he struck out.
“It’s a pity because he not only ruined Vettel’s race – and Ricciardo’s race – but also his own race. At that time, I was lapping a little quicker than Nico, I was chewing away at (his lead)”, said Hamilton, adding he had no idea how serious the problem with his auto was.
