Ferrari NV (NYSE:RACE) says the affected vehicles produced between September 8 and November 11 may have a low-pressure fuel line that does not connect properly to the fuel pump. While it has to be seen if any cars in India have been affected by this issue, California T owners can contact the Delhi and the Mumbai Ferrari dealerships for further clarity on the issue. Similarly, a stop sale notice to dealers of the 2016 California T is also in place.
According to Bloomberg, Ferrari’s paperwork submitted to the NHTSA points to a defect in a supplier part as the root of the problem.
According to the National Highway and Traffic Administration (NHTSA), the increased risk of a fire is due to a manufacturing defect of a component that came from a supplier.
Separately, Ferrari, owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, recalled 800 cars over the summer in the United States because of a complication with its Takata airbags. The recall covers cars made over a two-month period in 2015. According to The Wall Street Journal, the affected models include the Ford Flex, Police Interceptor, Explorer, and Lincoln MKS. The problem affected up to 868 vehicles.

“If not remedied, the connection may cause a fuel evaporation leak during the engine start phase”, the recall documents warn. Approximately 200 2016 California T cars have already been enlisted for the recall.
