Ferrari Will Build One More LaFerrari, Auction It to Benefit Earthquake Victims
Ferrari boss Sergio Marchionne announced in Maranello today that Ferrari will build one last LaFerrari, our friends at Road & Trackreport.

The 950bhp LaFerrari finished its production run in 2015, but one extra model is being made to be sold at auction.
Used examples now sell for between £2.5m and £3m, although it’s likely that the value of the 500th LaFerrari may exceed this considerably.
The original batch of LaFerraris sold like hot cakes despite carrying a price tag of £1 million each, and with an unexpected opportunity to own a very special edition, you can bet that No. 500 will fetch a sum that’s even heftier still.
The 500th Ferrari LaFerrari will be sold at an auction and all the proceeds, and we’re probably talking about a hefty sum, will benefit the victims of the natural disaster. The vehicle packs in a hybrid powertrain that makes 949hp.
Ferrari previously auctioned an Enzo after the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004. It’s also likely that the winning bidder will get to choose the colour and spec of the auto, although this hasn’t been finalised.

While no one could forget that Ferrari is an Italian company-indeed, it’s a national mascot and treasure-the brand is such a trinket of the global elite, parked in garages from Palo Alto to Dubai, that it’s achieved worldwide luxury good status alongside Hérmes bags and TAG Heuer watches.
