Saturday afternoon then saw thousands flock to the main stage in their masks, before Jack Whitehall invited everyone to sing-along with “Heroes”, “Rebel Rebel” and “All The Young Dudes”, as clips of Bowie’s final ever United Kingdom live performance from Isle Of Wight Festival in 2004 were shown on the big screens.
The tribute began with a message from comedian Jack Whitehall and involved festival-goers singing along to Heroes, Rebel Rebel and All The Young Dudes.
The masks were sold to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer charity. In it, he described him as a “true friend to the festival”.
