French fashion house Louis Vuitton is taking an unconventional approach for its spring/summer 2016 campaign, casting a video game character as the model.
LVHM Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the luxury handbag maker’s parent company, has already shuttered one of the one of Louis Vuitton’s two flagship stores in Guangzhou, according to Forbes. In 2012, Lightning and her fellow characters were pictured in a Japanese magazine spread clad in Prada. Dubbed the Series 4 campaign, the images show Lightning posing with items from Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2016 collection.
Fashion-fan gamers can now enjoy their favourite character in real life, modelling for the famous designer Louis Vuitton.
While we’d bet that most of the Louis Vuitton clientele is not quite familiar with the video game, in some ways this pairing makes a lot of sense. Interestingly, the first model that takes the stage even rocks some of Lightning’s pink hair, which may have actually been an intentional gesture to Lightning’s eventual collaboration with the Louis Vuitton brand.
Louis Vuitton’s new collection claims it wants to conquer today’s woman who is a fascinating territory of both fragility and strength.

Why the hell Square Enix tried to destroy all their good by bringing Lightning and Final Fantasy XIII back into the picture, on Christmas Day of all days, is a surprise to me.
