Troopers said the 7-year-old child was hit shortly after 8 a.m.at Winter Haven Court and Whippoorwill Drive.

Jason Wheeler, a Flagler County Public Schools spokesman, said this was third incident in which a vehicle struck a child in Palm Coast since the beginning of the school year.

FHP describes the scene as a residential neighborhood where the girl was attempting to cross.

Little Kymora attended Wadsworth Elementary School.

The Flagler County school superintendent was at the school Wednesday morning, along with counselors and psychologists, to support the students and faculty. School officials said it serves as a painful reminder to drivers to be alert. “She was lovable, everybody loved her. I mean, she was joy, she always had a smile on her face”, said family friend, Clifford Coe.

“I even brought here a Minny Mouse cause she reminds me so much of my daughter”, said a neighbor.

They said she stopped while police were called to the scene.

Troopers said the investigation is ongoing, but they do not believe speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
