This is because the RAM 1500 EcoDiesel is confirmed to be suffering from short-circuit which is caused by a battery wiring harness.

“Certain trucks may have steering-wheel wiring harnesses that wear because of contact with a spring”.

“All FCA U.S. vehicles are equipped with electronic stability control, which reduces the risk of rollovers”, Fiat-Chrysler said in a statement posted on its Web site. FCA says it is aware of one documented accident associated with this failure, but no injuries. The recall affects the 2013 Ram 3500, the 2014 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks, and the 2014 Ram 3500 chassis cab. It says 1.06 million of the vehicles covered by that recall were sold in the United States. Less than 1% of trucks repaired experienced the problem.

FCA U.S. says an internal investigation determined steering components may have bad welds that won’t hold. This could lead to separation and steering response issues. The company initiated a voluntary safety recall on Friday to update 1.4 million…

The company said that it will know about the two injuries which are caused by the problem but no crashes.
