“I think we’ll learn from this”, Baker said.

According to a report from ESPN, fans will have to wait till next Saturday night to watch a pro football game in Los Angeles.

The National Football League website and its social media pages reported the cancellation of the game between the Packers and Indianapolis just after 6 p.m. Sunday.

“A lot of fans came a long way”, he said.

Issues with the field forced the game to be cancelled. It could happen again in OH, if the National Football League fails to make a meaningful effort to refund every extra dollar spent by fans who made a wasted trip to Canton or extended their stay unnecessarily.

“Nobody’s been told anything”. They took tablets out. “If they are going to cancel, they keep letting people in – so can you imagine when everybody leaves, when they finally say that it is canceled, what it’s going to be like?”

In today’s curds, we look at some of the events that led up to Sunday’s cancellation, and we find reactions from members of both the Packers and Colts organizations. Yet there was still no official word. “And to sit here and not know the paint wasn’t going to work, it’s kind of ridiculous”. Strangely enough, the Packers have been involved in three Hall of Fame games that didn’t last all four quarters.

The Hall of Fame Game was canceled in 2011 because of the ongoing lockout. For the 2016 edition, which was to feature the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts, the stadium was using the former field from the Superdome in New Orleans for this year’s contest before being torn out for a permanent field to be installed for next year’s contest. In short, the paint at midfield and in the end zones hardened, and when the grounds crew tried to heat it up, they melted the rubber pellets making up the turf.

Players first began expressing concern about the field during pregame warmups. Young players at other positions would have benefitted, too, including at running back, with Eddie Lacy most likely out due to an ankle injury that sidelined him for most of Wednesday’s practice and all of Thursday’s.

“We wanted to tell the fans personally. It’s a hard call but they needed to hear it personally, and I wanted them to hear it from me”, Baker said.
