Kyle Busch won the second qualifying race Thursday night for the Daytona 500, but several contenders wrecked their prized cars in a last-lap accident.

“I was in the process of trying to get out of there and got caught up in it”, said Kenseth, a two-time Daytona 500 victor. “I try not to make too big a deal”. We can’t get the vehicle again Brady got a race like their auto matters so it’s really just cross your fingers as you get here.

Denny Hamlin waits in his vehicle during practice for Sunday’s NASCAR Daytona 500 Sprint Cup series auto race at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla., Friday, Feb. 19, 2016.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.-No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet/Kyle Busch-No. “There that last lap getting off into Turn 1 (Johnson) had a run on (McMurray) it looked from my mirror anyways and then (McMurray) may have pinched (Johnson) and got him turned around”. This is Busch’s third Duel win.

“It was very calm there for a long time until the last lap when it got insane”, Busch said. “Kind of nice to know we raced our way in”.

“It’s definitely a big thing for our team, Circle Sport and Leavine Family Racing, we’re going to have two cars in the Daytona 500, especially for a small team”.

DAYTONA BEACH | Winning the first of two 150-mile Can-Am Duel qualifying races Thursday night satisfied two goals for Dale Earnhardt Jr. Busch quickly resumed the lead at the restart and led for the final 20 laps. Mears’ bid for a finish at or near the front ended when he ran out of fuel in the closing laps. It’s a high-speed lottery ride every lap, with winners and losers determined by a split-second bump that can go awry.

Aided by a push from fellow Ford driver Blaney, Logano made a late charge at Earnhardt, but came up short. I definitely appreciate it when we make the races.

In the grand scheme, Earnhardt’s victory means little other than preferred starting spot (third) in Sunday’s Daytona 500. If this is any indication, Sunday’s race will bring many crashes and emotional moments with it.

“Once we got back to fourth, fifth, I probably should have just bailed”, said Kenseth, who was about fifth at the time of the accident.

Everybody knows I’m born in the lead is. But the vehicle is so good.

To help tell the story of what it’s like to attend a NASCAR race, Snapchat will at least double its Live Story coverage of NASCAR events in 2016, beginning with Sunday’s Daytona 500. Michael McDowell earned the spot in the first race, while Robert Richardson Jr. earned the final transfer spot. Starting in the back in 500 miles, if you can’t get to the front in three and a half or four hours, you have an issue.

“I could see with his aggression how fast he was going to come up and my line was going to take me into the wall”, Johnson said. “We are going to give it all we’ve got on Sunday”. Junior has been even better in the Daytona 500, finishing third or better in his last four.

Richardson Jr., David Gilliland and Reed Sorenson began the Duel needing to race their way in. Kyle Larson and Dillon had harrowing wrecks that sent pieces of debris spewing into the grandstand.

And then there’s Tony Stewart. As a result, they started in the beck for their Can-Am Duel races. Martin Truex Jr. also started in the back after failing to make a qualifying lap in front-row qualifying because NASCAR officials found a problem with one of his roof flaps….
