Alloush also repeated that there could be “no compromise” on Assad’s removal – which the regime has called a “red line”.
United Nations resolution 2254 is meant to endorse a road map for a peace process in Syria by setting a timetable for talks.
Danish warplanes have previously participated in airstrikes on IS forces in Iraq, but not Syria. The HNC wants him to have no role in any transitional government, but has said it was willing to share membership in a transitional body with figures in the current government. He did not say who was behind the strikes. On Monday, a similar barrage of rockets hit the border town, causing the death of five Syrians, including four children.
The wider province of Kilis borders areas in Syria held by Syrian anti-government rebels, Kurdish factions, and Islamic State group militants.
That idea “will never be discussed in any upcoming session because it is not within the authority of the negotiators in Geneva”, the Syrian diplomat said.
Syrian opposition parties have quit the Geneva talks, warning they will not return until the Syrian regime is serious about a transfer of power and stops attacks on civilians. He sent AP a recorded message on Tuesday saying he was leaving Geneva.
“We can not continue to be in discussions in Geneva when our people are dying of hunger and bombardments”, Hijab told a news conference.
The HNC, which brings together a range of political and military elements, on Monday postponed indefinitely formal negotiations.
The Anadolu Agency said Tuesday that the missiles hit the roof of a house, sparking a fire, the bathroom of a mosque and a graveyard in Kilis.
The latest round of indirect UN-brokered negotiations on the Syria crisis began in Geneva, Switzerland, on April 13.
Russian Federation has insisted it’s observing the truce and that any military actions it takes are in response to terrorist groups, including the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front.
Hijab accused the government of using the cease-fire to advance on rebel positions and said Assad’s biggest allies, Russian Federation and Iran, continued to supply his forces with weapons and fighters.
De Mistura said the new fighting in parts of Syria, especially near Aleppo, was “particularly worrisome” and that he expected that the USA and Russian Federation – who are leading oversight of the truce – will hold a special meeting about it “if this trend continues”. He said: “We will fight no matter the circumstances. We will fight even with stones, and will not surrender”, he said.
“The United Nations Security Council must meet and reconsider this (cessation of hostilities) agreement and there must be global monitors on the ground…”
Those responsible, he says, “must be held to account”.
Syria has been locked in a vicious civil war since early 2011, when the regime of Bashar al-Assad cracked down on pro-democracy protests. The envoy said he was planning to continue talks and consultations with every side and would take stock of the negotiations on Friday.
Hua says China welcomes the peace talks in Geneva and supports De Mistura’s mediation efforts.
U.S. President Barack Obama told Russia’s Vladimir Putin in a phone call on Monday that Syria was starting to fray more rapidly. A chief opposition negotiator meanwhile said the conditions on the ground were not conducive to political talks.

The suspension came just hours after Syrian opposition fighters launched a new offensive against government forces in a number of northwestern areas.
