Filming argument scenes with Brad was very heavy: Jolie
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s marriage might be even stronger than before after working together on “By the Sea”.

& Mrs. Smith. That outcome looks much less likely in their new film By The Sea, as the debut trailer for their first film together in 11 years leans more on them emotionally hurting each other.
The movie, which takes place in France during the mid-1970s, follows the tumultuous relationship of Vanessa (Jolie) and Roland (Pitt). It’s a pretty tense and ominous trailer only hinting at the struggles Jolie and Pitt’s characters are having in the film. In 2005, Angelina and Brad starred as married assassins in Mr.
The “Wanted” actress joked that the argument scene resembled parents fight at home. The trailer is short, but makes it clear that Jolie’s Vanessa and Pitt’s Roland are sorting through some severe grief. Ten years, five children, and one wedding later, Jolie says that the couple are drawing on another real-life element for their next collaboration-marital frustration. “I think ‘By the Sea’ was the hardest film for me because it wasn’t [issue-driven]”.
Brad Pitt is NOT “flipping out” over Angelina Jolie taking their taking their kids to “unsafe” countries for her humanitarian work, despite a new tabloid report. In the end, however, Jolie, 40, had a nagging sense that her story would somehow be misinterpreted – so she added another credit to her resume.
“We’re proud of ourselves for being fearless enough to try it”, Jolie said. “We got to push each other and be artists together, not in some big shiny film but in something very grass roots and emotional”.

It’s been 10 years since the release of the couple’s movie, Mr & Mrs Smith, and the storyline is far from where the action spy movie.
