The songs were recorded during the sessions for Bowie’s final album, Blackstar, and co-produced by Tony Visconti.

As well as including music from the Lazarus musical, which is now showing on Broadway in NY, the album will feature the tracks No Plan, Killing A Little Time and When I Met You. They are all previously unreleased. A new cast album compilation is due out on October 21st, and, as outcome of Sound noted, the album will also feature a handful of original Lazarus recordings by David Bowie himself. His final album Blackstar, a haunting meditation on mortality, was released two days before he died.
Although the “Lazarus” cast has performed the three songs before, Bowie’s original versions haven’t been released.
The Dexter star played the lead role in the New York Theatre Workshop’s production of Bowie’s musical, which opened shortly before the rock icon’s death.
The cast album was recorded on 11 January (16), hours after Bowie lost his battle with cancer.
Lazarus moves to London’s West End on October 25 for a three-month run.
