As an independent athlete, she’s being coached by her college coach, Steve Kuster, who arrived in Rio after the meeting.

The United States women’s soccer team was eliminated by Sweden in the quarterfinal at the Rio Olympics.
The U.S. women face Sweden on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Rio Olympics soccer tournament – and that means a reunion with Sundhage, who now coaches the Swedish women.
And two other Americans won gold, too.
The Brazilian women, meanwhile, have an entire nation of 209 million people rooting for them when they meet Australia on Friday.
Other matches have Portugal take on Germany at 1 p.m.; Nigeria against Denmark at 4 p.m. and Korea vs. Honduras at 7 p.m.
Doesn’t he have enough Olympic gold medals?
Farah, heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill and long jumper Greg Rutherford won gold medals within an hour of each other at the 2012 London Games, creating one of the biggest roars in Olympic history. But the answer is no, he wants another one.
After winning four gold medals at these games and looking unbeatable, Phelps finally ran out of steam in what was the final individual race of his career unless he decides to come out of retirement again. Ledecky swims the 800-meter freestyle and Phelps is in the100 fly. Meyer took the 200, 400 and 800 meter free at the Mexico City Olympics in 1968.
Singapore’s Joseph Schooling is congratulated by United States’ Michael Phelps after winning the gold medal in the men’s 100-meter butterfly final during the swimming competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Friday, Aug. 12.
The last day of the Rio Olympics rowing competition could write another entry in the epic rivalry between Olympic singles champion Mahe Drysdale of New Zealand and world champion Ondrej Synek of the Czech Republic.
The frenetic finishes in the swimming pool capped a day that included a big escape by the USA men’s basketball team and a stunning loss by the women’s soccer squad.
Allyson Felix, who won’t get a chance to repeat for gold in the 200, takes to the track after winning the USA trials over Phyllis Frances. The three Olympic rookies on the American team have had an impressive start: Elena Delle Donne, Breanna Stewart and Brittney Griner have all taken over parts of games as the USA women won their first two Olympic contests in dominating fashion. Jamaican Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the two-time defending Olympic champion, had the fastest time in qualifiers Friday night.
The action gets under way with heats in the men’s 800 in the morning session.
In the 400, Rio fans will get a first look at American LaShawn Merritt, South Africa’s Wayde van Niekerk and Grenada’s Kirani James.
Sweden coach Pia Sundhage, who coached the USA team to Olympic gold medals in Beijing and London, quipped: “It’s OK to be a coward if you win”. She certainly has nothing to complain about after winning two golds, a silver and a bronze. But the Rio de Janeiro Olympics have yet to catch on across the sprawling metropolitan area of 12 million. Their truck was sprayed with bullets, shattering the windows.
FINA did correct some mistakes, including that of a Kuwaiti swimmer competing under the International Olympic Committee flag.
The Guardian newspaper in Britain reported that 17 swimmers from 16 countries still had qualifying times that didn’t match the actual results from last year’s world championships in Kazan, Russia. All were admitted to the games under the “universality rule”, which aims to spread the sport to developing countries that would not otherwise have qualified.
FINA said the Olympic competition was not affected by the botched times, but there were renewed questions about the murky way swimming is governed and organized. Now that’s a reason to party. “Everyone is coming together to celebrate”.
A polish weightlifter and a Bulgarian steeplechaser were kicked out of Olympics for doping and a Chinese swimmer received a provisional suspension in the first positive doping tests of these games. France’s Florent Manaudou finished second in 21.41 and American Nathan Adrian took bronze.
Medals also will be awarded in the 1500 free, which won’t include defending champion Sun Yang of China, who failed to qualify Friday.

Kuster believes the proper lane assignment will help her put up a much better time than she would have swimming against much-slower swimmers, even though she’s got little chance of advancing out of the preliminaries either way.
