Final Fantasy VII Port to PlayStation 4 This October

ATB, of course, stands for Active Time Battle, a staple of older Final Fantasy games (from IV to IX) that crosses menu-based combat with real-time turn gauges. Nomura said during an interview that the game won’t be a simple remake.

We distilled down hours of talking heads on stage to just three quick minutes of all the gaming news you need to know in this DT highlight reel.

A debut trailer was shown during the E3 2015 conference last week, and many agree that the remake seems dark and gritty.

For instance, that scene where protagonist Cloud Strife crossdresses to save Tifa from Don Corneo’s mansion will be included in the new version.

Who is behind the remake, and why are they doing it? What that will mean remains to be seen, but even though the game will be a proper remake of the beloved PlayStation classic, “Final Fantasy VII Remake” won’t be the game’s final title. Some fans are not in agreement with the possible changes, but we view this as a good thing since there were certain parts of the original game that needed improvement. The shares reportedly rose to the highest level they have reached in over 6 years, stating beyond a shadow of a doubt that the company made the right move. “We’re developing consecutive Playstation 4 titles, so we’re trying to give the hardware more support”.

Finally, will Xbox One and PC gamers be able to play the game?

Square Enix keenly pointed out that the original PlayStation version of “Final Fantasy VII” is not merely getting a “fresh coat” of polish. I don’t want to change it so much that it’s unrecognizable as Final Fantasy VII.

The series has evolved quite a lot since “Final Fantasy 7” came out – a long time has passed since then, and technology has developed significantly as well.

While it’s going to be a timed exclusive for the PS4, nothing was said about other platforms – and Sony were vague about the expiration of the exclusivity period.
