According to Square, the Final Fantasy VII remake will be “told across a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience”, later telling Kotaku that “Each entry will have its own unique story”.
In an interview with Japanese game publication Famitsu that Square Enix translated, the publisher revealed that the remake of the 1997 role-playing game will include areas and content not in the original.
Square Enix’s Game director Tetsusya Nomura and producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed that they will have a partnership with CyberConnect2 Studios for the development of “Final Fantasy 7” remake, Gamespot reported. Nomura said that the combat fans saw in the PSX 2015 trailer is just a basic look at the fundamentals, and that he’s now hard at work designing a battle system with an even greater emphasis on strategy.
The latest “Final Fantasy 7” remake trailer was shown during the PlayStation Experience event last weekend and features a more action-RPG style gameplay than the traditional turned-based gameplay present in the original “FFVII” for the PlayStation console.
“We’re humbled that Square Enix has chosen Unreal Engine 4 to recreate one of the world’s most beloved video games of all time”, territory manager for Epic Games Japan Taka Kawasaki added. How do you feel about the game being officially referred to as Final Fantasy 7 Remake?
