Find Out What Your Uber Driver Thinks of You

While we’ve seen various hacks and work-arounds for users to find out their passenger rating in the past, Uber has finally created an official mechanism for users to find out just how pleasant and interesting they truly are. News circulated past year that Uber drivers were quietly rating the people they pick up.

If you’re daring enough to look, here’s how you can figure out your own rating. Hidden deep in the Uber app’s settings, there’s a feature that will reveal just that. Drivers must retain a certain rating level to continue driving, which means they want to avoid problematic passengers, or at least have a heads up about what to expect.

Much as you rate your charioteer at the end of each Uber session, the driver gives you, the passenger, a rating from one to five stars.

In the Uber app, click on the menu on the top left. “Ratings are always reported as averages, and neither riders nor drivers will see the individual rating left for a particular trip”. Uber can criticize me all they like but at last week’s Licensing and Standards Committee meeting I was outspoken in representing the needs of my constituents, which is my mandate.

Agree to “know my rating”.
