The left-back then enjoyed a six-month loan spell with Sunderland in 2014 where he helped the club avoid relegation before returning to Fiorentina where he’s established himself as a regular starter. The Viola are on the lookout for more signings than departures and are on the verge of resigning Stevan Jovetic from Inter Milan.
“We want to keep our best players and strengthen our squad and we’re going to try to put together the best squad possible for the coach’s demands”, Freitas said when asked specifically about the Montenegrin.

Manager Antonio Conte recently claimed that the club will “have a problem” trying to sign their targets.
