Fiorina jumps to second place in post-debate poll

About 44% of likely GOP voters say they see Trump as the candidate who could best handle the economy – well ahead of his nearest competitors: Fiorina at 11%, Rubio at 10% and Bush at 8%. “And so the things that might have caused you to be afraid about something – I’m not afraid”. While that line played well in the Reagan Presidential Library, it did not play as well with the families of 9/11 victims. I would bet that Christie was very pleased with how the debate turned out for him; he needs a break out. Not only did the audience give Fiorina a burst of applause, but Nielsen Social reported Thursday that it was the most tweeted-about event within the debate. Americans watch the show that is the two-year-long election soap opera and end up deciding who is their favorite character.

“The other day they laid off 30,000 people, they are still suffering the effects of her reign”, Trump said. Rand Paul of Kentucky fared worse.

Bush was considered to be one of the “winners” of the debate according to CNN. Only small numbers of Republicans felt any of the other candidates won the debate. Ted Cruz of Texas and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 6 percent each; Sen. Donald Trump didn’t dominate.

“We’ll see what happens”, Trump told ABC’s This Week. “We’ve talked way too much to him”, Fiorina countered. He was provoked often during the debate, but he demonstrated more restraint, refusing to swat back or doing so less vigorously.

But the loudest audience response of the night came when Ms Fiorina was asked about an interview in which Trump said she could not be president because “Look at that face”.

Carly Fiorina was one of several candidates whose detailed answers stood in contrast to Donald Trump’s lack of specificity. “What started as an exploration – not a lark, but an exploration – has become viable. And you can’t win that by constantly attacking everybody”. I don’t think it helps to change our history. For example, while addressing Trump, Tapper noted that Jeb Bush had said that he was not a serious candidate. “She had pretty easy questions”.

“Everyone’s saying she made a good speech yesterday”.

“Women all over the country heard very clearly what Mr Trump said”, Ms Fiorina said with restraint, to some of the loudest cheers of the night. But for now, she lacks the money and organization for the lengthy campaign most expect.
