A fire broke in a shopping centre that houses KFC outlet at Bandra Linking road on Monday morning.

However, there are no reports of casualty so far, nor anybody is reported trapped. Due to rains and heavy traffic, the fire brigade took 45 minutes to reach the spot. Besides Boot Maker, another shoe store and an eatery were gutted. The fire reportedly began because of short circuit. Almost 10 water tankers and 12 fire engines rushed to the spot to cool down the fire as per the info from the reports.
Taking about the fire, Kerkar said, “I heard about about the incident around 11 am and rushed to see the situation”.
“The fire had spread very fast through the jam-packed lofts to most of the shops”. At noon, sources said the fire was under control.

Prima facie, the fire is suspected to have been caused due to a short-circuit in the shop which was closed when the mishap occurred, police added.
