Fire tight-lipped on Drogba link
Striker Didier Drogba is being courted by MLS teams, with the Chicago Fire the front-runner to land the Ivory Coast native.

Fire are allegedly prepared to offer the 37-year-old an 18-month contract worth around £1.6 million per year, but Yallop refrained from adding fuel to the fire despite expressing his admiration of the ex-Marseille man.
The report states that the Ivory Coast global is set to sign for the Men in Red if he can agree terms with the MSL.
Major League Soccer is aiming to bring another big name into the league as they have offered Didier Drogba a contract, according to ESPN FC. He saw the field with some regularity during the 2014-15 campaign, scoring seven goals in 38 appearances across all competitions.

Despite this, he managed to net four goals and register one assist – although he did have the lowest shot accuracy of any Chelsea striker last season with 36% – as the West London club marched to the Premier League trophy. He has played for French, English, Turkish and Chinese clubs over his 17-year career. (If that sentence doesn’t make much sense to you, just nod along and smile.) At least one source claims that this deal might be confirmed as early as this weekend, though there is interest from a mystery Qatari club as well. The team most after his signature is the last-placed Chicago Fire, according to ESPN.
