The National Weather Service has issued flash flood watches over most of Minnesota this morning.

As we head into the upcoming weekend, the chances for showers and thundershowers continues to increase. It is estimated that 1 to 2 inches of rain have already fallen and another 1 to 2 inches are likely. That is already playing out Thursday morning. Gulf moisture will flow into East Texas over the next several days, increasing our chances for rain.

Thursday’s temperatures on Long Island are expected mostly to reach the upper 80s, flirting with 90, but feeling more like the mid 90s, thanks to the humidity, forecasters say.

Hutchinson had over 5 inches of rain causing storm water to pool in many areas.

A flash flood watch is in effect for all of southeastern Louisiana and southern MS, including New Orleans, Baton Rouge, the North Shore and the River Parishes, until at least Saturday morning, with rainfall accumulations of 7 to 10 inches likely and some locations seeing higher totals, according to the Slidell office of the National Weather Service.

Rain chances for Acadiana will increase to 80-90% Friday and will be near 100% Saturday, dropping to 50-60% Sunday. Rainfall amounts will be highest closer to Lafayette and likely tapper off significantly as you move west toward the Sabine River. Stay alert through the weekend and keep a close eye on the radar.
