“Today, we welcome many Syrian refugees who were forced to flee their homeland because of war and conflict”.
The recently elected Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, said, “This is a wonderful night”, and explained that his country was “showing the world how to open our hearts”, according to the news portal.
The prime minister thanked the staff and volunteers helping to process and welcome the 163 refugees ahead of the arrival of the military aircraft.
Government departments across Canada having been warming up to the country’s biggest refugee resettlement programme and the results are quite evidently exceptional. “I came as a permanent resident, but when I met the families and saw the children that were coming out, you just saw the enthusiasm in their eyes and how appreciative that they were for what Canada is doing for them”. A poll that Canada’s CBC News released last month said that not all Canadians are receptive to the new arrivals.
Canada’s move to welcome Syrian refugees to the country is in sharp contrast to most of the western nations who are reluctant to accept them in their country. Both families said they were happy to be here.
