First blow: UFC champ Miocic started Cleveland’s title run
As the fighters took the stage for the UFC 203 pre-fight press conference, heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic sat down and to his right was former title holder Fabricio Werdum.

Sherdog.com reports that Miocic attempts to defend his title and hopefully wins the main event of the night. “With much more cage experience than Miocic and with his confidence soaring, he may just dethrone the champ”, the analyst said of one-time Manila visitor Overeem, who boasts of a 41-14 record. “And both these fighters offer these traits”, he shared to BusinessWorld in an interview as he spoke of the kind of dynamic the Miocic-Overeem fight would have.
“Making your pro debut in the UFC is no small task, especially when you’re 37 and going against a young and hungry undefeated fighter like Gall”. I don’t want to give anything up. I’ve trained too hard to go out there and give it up.
“I told you before my big goal is the belt”.
“I expect him to come with a full arsenal”, Overeem said. But everyone has power. “My game plan is great, so I’m very confident”.
The 11-fight event kicks off Saturday at 7 p.m. ET with two fights streaming on UFC Fight Pass. The main event will see Miocic vs. Overeem in a heavyweight title bout while in the co-main event Browne will fight Werdum in a heavyweight clash.
