First four seat Ferrari with a V8 engine
The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T has been revealed as a new entry-level GTC4, sporting the 3.8 litre V8 engine from the California T with 602bhp and rear-wheel drive.

And while Ferrari Australia has 12 months of orders in its books for the V12 GTC4 Lusso, the “Ferraristi” will quickly tell you the GTC4 Lusso T is significant as it’s the first-ever full four-seat V8 Ferrari – so you’ll need to move fast to get your order in for 2018. The new engine option is targeted at “owners seeking a vehicle that is sporty and versatile”.
The GTC4 is the first Ferrari that we can remember that offers two completely different engine options in the exact same body style.
The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso T weighs-in at 1740gs – a fair bit lighter than the V12 GTC4 Lusso (1920kgs). Ferrari is claiming 0-62mph in 3.5seconds, and a top speed of 199mph, and if drivers go for the V12, that knocks off 0.1 seconds from the 0-62mph, with a top speed of 208mph. The V8 also puts less strain on the car’s front end than the V12: 46% versus 47%.
By dropping four cylinders, and switching from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive, the GTC4 Lusso T tips the scales at 1740 kilograms, or 50kg less than the V12 version.
The GTC4Lusso’s control systems have been recalibrated for the new torque delivery, particularly the rear-wheel steering system and Slide Slip Control. However, it is unlikely to top the heady acceleration of the GTC4 Lusso, which is claimed to hit 100kmh in 3.4sec and possess a top speed of 335kmh.
How much cheaper is it? With 610bhp of power and 760Nm or torque on tap, the new “cheaper” GTC4 T will be no slouch. But expect it to still be a 30 million baht Fezza in Thailand.

It’s also interesting to see how long the V12 engine can live on amid the need to reduce average fleet Carbon dioxide emissions.
