First in line for the new Star Wars flick

If you think you have an impressive collection of Star Wars stuff, you might want to take a sneak peek at one of the largest collection of Darth Vader memorabilia that has been assembled by Star Wars fan Bill McBride. But the newest installment of “Star Wars” prompted management to beef up protection to keep patrons’ minds at ease.

Chad O’Dell of Greenwood has been a “Star Wars” fan since he was a child when he fell in love with “A New Hope”.

“It means the world to us to share these things”.

Recent rampages in movie theaters – including in Colorado, where a gunman killed 12 people and injured close to 70 others in 2012 – prompted movie theaters across the U.S.to increase security, especially during highly anticipated releases, such as “Star Wars”.

IMAX tickets for Thursday were sold out so fans waited in line all day to guarantee their flawless seat.

“We’ve got them all at home and we’ve watched them all, so the fact that they can come and experience it with a group of individuals that are experiencing this for the first time, it’s pretty exciting”, Dynes said. They say the Star Wars franchise has captured and held their imaginations for their entire lives, many saying they love the simple themes of the films, like good versus evil and father and son.
