First intelligent robot who can understand human ‘emotions’

A Japanese company has launched its new product, an intelligent robot that can understand emotions.

According to the report, the robot, named Pepper, can recognize and analyze gestures, expressions and tone of voice through an artificial intelligence program, or ’emotional engine’.

The Japanese firm, Softbank, explained that this robot can also maintain a communication with human just like one person communicate with another person.

The chief executive officer of the company said “People describe others as being robots because they have no emotions, no heart”.

He added “For the first time in human history, we’re giving a robot a heart, emotions”.

However, the robot is not yet available for general people but it is expected that it will hit the market from next year $2000.
