First look at Lucy Lawless in Ash Vs. Evil Dead

Recently, Starz released some stills from their new comedy-horror series “Ash Vs Evil Dead,” the highlight being the photo which shows Campbell wielding a chainsaw, probably something he used to kill one of his “evil dead” opponent. During the panel Raimi indicated that he’d be behind the camera on another film if Campbell were in front of it. That’s only 10 hours of programming; we need eight more movies.

Onstage with Campbell, director and EP Sam Raimi – who helmed the original 1981 Evil Dead feature and two sequels – said he would be behind the camera on another pic if Campbell were in front of it. Based on the cult classic horror movies, the 10-episode, 30-minute Starz series debuts on Halloween, as was announced at Comic-Con.

“I went blind the other day shooting a scene”, Campbell joked. “Putting stumps back on, getting covered in blood again, which reminded me how much I hate fake blood”. “No matter what we say to them or what we give them, it will never be enough, and we’re very grateful for that”.

“It’s in no way police tell, a physician exhibit, or perhaps a legal practitioner show”, Campbell said.

The project also stars Lucy Lawless, making a return to Starz after starring on Spartacus, playing Ruby, a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks. “She’s a bad bitch and she’s stalking Ash Williams”, Lawless said. When a plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is forced to step up and face his demons.
